Anyone into decorating? How would you decorate a Log home?

At the end of the month, my fiance and I are closing on our first home… a log home! Natural wooden walls, floors and wooden ceilings. ALOT of brown.
We were thinking of creating a “modern look” using modern furniture, really” LA style” tempered glass modern coffee table.. bright red sectional with a modern area rug for the living room.

Stainless steel or black appliances and grey slate tile in the kitchen, with again, a bright red rug near the foot of the sink to pop against the grey floor.
Is this foolish, should we decorate with a “traditional” rustic look instead? We are torn!
Thoughts and input on how you would decorate a log home would be most appreciated… thanks!

Lots of antlers! I always liked the log cabin in Surviving the Game with Ice T! They had a great table that was a cross section of a sequoia.
