can anyone tell me if its worth it to buy a log home, i know they are not very efficient but how much is “not very”?
thanks for the response… so if this home im considering is 8 years (2000) could it be safe to assume (before being shown) that the most recent standards require the type of efficiency you were referring to?

a lot depends on the construction methods of the particular home. d type logs are actually very efficient. with walls that thick the insulation value of the wood is very high. the older style with chinking can be a leaky son of a gun. and a lot depends on the roof style. if it has exposed decking under the roof then it will bleed a lot of heat. but a newer well built log home is pretty efficient.
