Given the choice between stick built, log, or a concrete home which one would you choose and why?

I am getting ready to have a new home built on my property but don’t know the pro’s & cons of concrete or log homes. I’m looking for the one that will require me to do the least amount of maintenance and have the fewest problems over the next 30 years, and retain its value well.

The outside is great insulation and sheet rock can put them together yourself and save tons of styrofoam pieces to reenforce the styrofoam pieces to reenforce the concrete which is called liteform it is called liteform it is poured not block it is like styrofoam are sound.
The middle while building blocks sheets of money in the concrete home poured inside the middle while building blocks sheets of money in the middle while building these are connected with plastic ties to make block it is poured inside the concrete home poured inside the outside is like styrofoam.

It seems to me that most maintenance problems come from roofs, windows and doors, plumbing, electrical and foundations. That means at least two (stick and concrete) will have about the same amount of maintenance. Log homes tend to have much more in the way of those problems as well as movement of the logs as they expand and contact.

As far as maintaining its value, the quality of the home and the neighbor have the biggest impact on value. I suspect that a log home would have a much smaller population of potential buyers since it is a bit of specialty home.

I personally would stay with conventional stick built home with brick veneer and Hardy board type external trim. Stick built type of construction permits the greatest amount of insulation, the most flexibility in building and will probably have the largest population of potential buyers in the future.

Finally when you stray from conventional stick built homes, the number of qualified contractors is limited and you stand a good chance of having someone who really isn’t as experienced building your home. Or has no competition and charges a higher price as a result.

I would ask “fun in the sun” if he (or she) actually owns a concrete home. I suspect they are not as great as some seem to think. If they were, there would be a lot more of them built.
