Just wondering if anyone can explain the maintenance involved in owning a log home. What regular things need to be done every year, what are things that will need to be done in time, etc.?

My husband & I are house-hunting and found a log home that we really like, but we know nothing about the maintenance that is involved in such a house.
I’ve found companies that will re-do caulking (or chinking) and seal the logs on house and treat it with a borate (for fungus/insect), but they give no indication how often something like this might need to be done and my hubby & I want to be informed before we even think of making an offer.
