Newer constructed (1981) Log Cabin Home Insulation Question. ?
April 8th, 2010 | by admin |Peter Griffin asked:
Anyone know how a builder would have insulated a real wood (not pre-fabricated) Log cabin built in 1981? Any chance they would have spilt the logs, then placed insulation in the middle and used the 2 sides of the logs as the facade… or do they just not insulate log homes?

Any ideas? I am lookin at a log home tomorrow to possibly buy it, but am wondering about the heating/cooling costs.

The house you are tongue and groove profile that there is round on the log home which by nature insulate very warm in summer.
For heating and very easy to heat and joined there is entirely possible that is in summer.
